- AMSOIL 10W-40 Premium Synthetic oil surpasses the North American SAE and European ACEA Oils specifications for high temperature/high shear (HTHS) viscosity. It retains its viscosity at temperatures and loads that cause conventional Oil to shear back to a lower viscosity. AMSOIL 10W-40 Premium Synthetic oil maintains an extremely protective viscosity of 3.93 cP at 302F (150C) in the ASTM D 4683 High Temperature/High Shear Test, significantly exceeding test limits.

When using AMSOIL 10W-40 Oils additives or after-market products are not recommended for use with AMSOIL 10W-40 High Performance Synthetic oil
